Coney Island Part 1

On Labor Day Shelby and I decided to take a trip out to Coney Island. The New York Aquarium is out there so we decided to make that our first stop.

The train ride is a long one, it takes about an hour from midtown, but it's a good time to catch up on some reading. Or eat some corn on the cob apparently like this lady was doing. She went through two ears while she was sitting there but she had about five with her. This is not even the weirdest thing I've seen on the subway though, ha ha.

The New York Aquarium

Pretty fishies

We arrived just in time for the walrus feeding. They were so funny and did a lot of tricks. This one blew us a kiss.

These starfish were such bright colors!

The sea lions were so cute. There were two of them in this tank and it seemed like they had this routine choreographed or something because they kept swimming the same routes and striking poses in front of the glass.

We got to see our walrus friends again but this time underwater. They were the same hams underwater as they were above. These animals really know how to play to their audience.

The sharks were scary and lurky. We moved on quickly. Plus there was a strange man standing at the glass talking to that turtle.....

The jellyfish room was really cool. They keep it really dark in there so you can see they jellyfish and they are really mesmerizing to watch.

This was the sea anemone like Nemo lives in. I didn't see Nemo but this fish was pretty.

This aquarium has a touch pond where we got to touch some creatures. Here we are touching a starfish. We also got to touch a sea urchin.

On our way out we stopped by the penguin feeding. Penguins are just so stinking cute! I wanted to take one home but Shelby said no...

Stay tuned for part two of our Coney Island adventure.
Until Next Time
XOXO
Ashley
