Siblings in the City

Guess who lives in NYC now?! Yes, that's right, our brother Ethan recently moved to the city. He is in the acting and musical theater world so New York City is the perfect place for him to have further opportunities in his career. Shelby and I are so excited to have him around. Yesterday we met up in Brooklyn Bridge Park for a little sibling bonding time. It was such a gorgeous early fall day. We stopped by Smorgasburg and then enjoyed our yummy treats picnic style before taking a stroll along the river.

Side note- as we were sitting in the park we saw no fewer than three brides having their photos taken. One while riding the carousal....in her wedding dress. Kind of a strange destination for wedding photos, no?

This is one of my favorite spots in the city to take photos. Such a great backdrop! The last one is my fav :)

P.S. What do you think of the new blog design? We decided it was time for a change.

Let's Catch Up: Our Summer

Sorry for the unintentional summer break. Turns out we've had way to much fun just hanging out this summer and blogging has fallen to the back burner. Let's catch up!

I turned 27 in June. Shelby and I had the perfect NYC summer day starting with brunch...

...and ending with a Broadway show. Which just happened to be staring our friend Chandler (yes that's her face on the posters!)

In July Shelby dragged me to a One Direction concert in New Jersey that she got last minute tickets for. You can tell by the look on my face how excited I am ;)

Later in July Shelby and I both ended up in Dallas the same week. She had a trip planned and I ended up having to go the same week for work. So, we spent a little time with the family and took in a baseball game.

Go Rangers!!

We had fun but it was SO hot!

Looking a little rough by the end of the night but it was worth it

Nothing beats a Texas sunset...

...except maybe a koloche from Czech Stop in West, TX

I had the privilage of spending time with friends visiting the city and friends back in Dallas.

We enjoyed a day in Brooklyn at Brooklyn Bridge Park (Shelby had never been) and ate some yummy treats at Smorgasburg.

I visited the cities most popular attraction this summer- the Rain Room at The MoMa

We celebrated the Royal Baby's birthday with cupcakes from Sprinkles

And we've enjoyed taking walks along the East River to our little secret park watching the sunset. There is a dog park there that Pixie LOVES.

We are going to try to soak up the last few weeks of summer before a very busy fall starts for both of us. We have lots of fun things planned. What did you do this summer?

Until Next Time

City Views: Brooklyn Bridge Park

While Shelby is off exploring other countries I thought I would do a fun little series sharing some of my favorite views of New York City.

I can't think of a more perfect summer day in NYC than a visit to Brooklyn Bridge Park. Between the park, the East River, the Brooklyn Bridge, and the great views of Downtown Manhattan everywhere you look there is something cool to see.

There are plenty of seating options to relax and enjoy the view. Between traditional picnic tables, benches along the river boardwalk, or a simple blanket laid out on the grass there are plenty of ways to relax and enjoy a day in the park.

The park features a fully restored historic carousel which you can ride for $2.

I recommend you hit up the park on Sundays as it coincides with Smorgasburg!

Until Next Time

P.S. Our last trip to Smorgasburg
