Dyeing Easter Eggs

Happy Easter everyone!!

This weekend Shelby and I set out to do something neither of us had done since we were little kids: dye eggs! We made a little party out of it with some peeps and had a great afternoon making pretty eggs. Here are some photos if you would like to see.

Hope everyone had a great weekend! It's finally starting to feel a little more like Spring here (and by that I mean the temperatures are finally in the upper 50s).

Until next time

City Bakery!

Last Sunday Ash and I ventured down to City Bakery. We have both been dying to go down and try it, and I'm so glad we finally did. We were not let down by their AMAZING hot chocolate.

Their hot chocolate is a mix between dark and milk chocolate, and you can get a huge homemade marshmallow in it. It was so rich and sweet, but it definitely hit the spot.

We also split a chocolate chip cookie, and a pretzel croissant!

 Look how thick it was!

We also both wore our converse today! Totally not planned, but what can we say!? We think the exact same!

Until Next Time!

Trend Of The Week: Fuchsia Lips

So this weeks trend of the week is fuchsia lipstick! We have seen this all over the runway recently, and all over the streets of New York. When I wear it I want it to stand out, that's why I wore black and white. It's a very bright shade but I absolutely LOVE it!

The color I have on here is Maybelline Fuchsia Flash. You can find it any drugstore near you. Show us some pictures if you try it out! Definitely so fun to try this Spring!

Serendipity

The restaurant I've been to the most in NYC hands down is Serendipity. When I lived here during college doing my internship my roommate and I had a weekly date with Serendipity. Have you guys seen the movie? If not you should check it out. I love what the word serendipity means: The occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way; the art of making happy discoveries. This is truly how I feel life is.

The window of the restaurant was all decorated for Easter

Our brother, Ethan, was still in town so Shelby and I met up with him and his friend Alysa Saturday night because neither of them had ever been to Serendipity.

Ethan experiencing his first Frozen Hot Chocolate

Such a great evening enjoying some yummy treats. If you ever go to Serendipity (and I recommend you do) make sure you get a reservation or be prepared to wait at least an hour.

Until next time

P.S. If you want to experience frozen hot chocolate in your own home you can order the mix here.

Book Of Mormon!

I hope everyone is having a great week! Our brother Ethan is in town, and he took us to go see Book of Mormon. I have seen the show before, but this was Ashley and Ethan's first time to see it. Let's just say it's a very explicit show, but absolutely hilarious.

We picked this show because one of our good friends Candace Woods has now been cast in it. Candace went to Naaman Forest, where all three of us graduated from. She is the absolute sweetest and incredibly talented. She took us backstage after the show! So cool to see the view that she sees every night.

I missed this kid!

It's fun for us all to be reunited for a little bit!

I am now on my spring break, so hopefully I can have a little fun on my few days off. Unfortunately I don't get the whole week off because I will be interning four days of the week.

Until Next Time

Trend of the Week: Spring Nail Art

I don't know about you guys but I'm ready for a little spring around here. It's still to cold in NYC to change over to my spring wardrobe but I've started to introduce spring in another way- my nails! Pastel colors are very in this spring and I saw this tutorial on Pinterest so I thought I would give it a try. It was actually a lot easier to do than I thought it would be.

First, paint your nails with a nude color. I used Essie's Topless and Barefoot.

Pick out a variety of pastel colors that compliment each other. I used 4 colors but you could easily use more or less. The colors I used left to right are Revlon Minted, Revlon Peachy, Sally Hanson Pink Blink, Essie Lapiz of Luxury, and Essie Topless and Barefoot is pictured again.

After your nude base color is dry drop some polish on a piece of paper then dab it up with a make up sponge. Use the thicker end for more coverage and use the slim end for less coverage.

Stamp your nails with the sponge. Pictured above are my nails after one stamp each. You can do them all the same or you can mix it up and do a differnt pattern with different colors on each nail.

They turned out something like this. Paint a clear top coat when you are done so all the layers are smooth.

Full disclosure I practiced on my toes first and they turned out much more blended which is another nice option. To get this look use less saturation of paint on the sponge and use only the thicker end with a very light hand.

What are your favorite nail polish colors for spring?

Until next time

Fun on a Snowy Saturday

Yesterday it snowed in NYC (yes, again) so since that was hopefully the last time it snowed this season we decided to talk a walk and say goodbye to winter. We would love to share a few of the pictures we took along the way.

Here's to Spring!
Until next time
